GRANT GUIDELINES REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS

OBJECTIVE: The Louisiana Orthopaedic Association (LOA), under the auspices of its Research Committee, is offering up to $5,000 to promote healthcare research that may help optimize orthopaedic care in Louisiana. There will be one Member Research Grant submission cycle during the year.

TIMELINE: Full proposal submittal opens in November 2025 with a January 16, 2026 (11:59 CT) deadline. Award notification will be announced at the 2026 LOA Annual Meeting that will take place March 20-21, 2026.

FUNDING: This program provides a one-time award, per application, of up to $5,000 to be disbursed over a 12-month period. The start date of the funded project will be March 23, 2026 and should be completed within a 12-month period. No-cost extensions may be requested. The grantee(s) must present the findings of the study at the LOA annual meeting within 1 year of completing the proposed work.

ELIGIBILITY: The Principal Investigator (PI) must be an LOA member in good standing. There is no requirement for the PI to have obtained prior peer-reviewed funding. The research must be conducted in North America.
